ALHAMDULILLAH

What is the meaning of alhamdulillah? What is the difference Hamd with syukr? Why do humans have to praise God?

Alhamdulillah means praise be to Allah. This sentence consists of three words, namely: alhamdu, li, and God. Hamd means to praise, the addition of al meaningful for all things mean so alhamdu all praise and meaningful li specialism for God. Alhamdulillah sentence called 22 times in the Qur'an, some of which are contained in the letter: Al Fatiha / 1:1, Al An'am / 6:45, and Yunus/10: 10.


The word Hamd (praise) is different from syukr (thank you), praise is given because something does have eligibility for credit. Meanwhile, thanks delivered because there is something accepted by the people who say thank you. Here is some context of use of the word praise in the Qur'an:

Al Fatihah / 1:1
Praise be to Allah rabb (Lord) of the Worlds. Editors such as this we also reveals that when God explains that people dzalim destroyed down to the roots (Al An'am / 6:45), as the closing prayer of Paradise (Yunus/10: 10), and as a final statement about the safety / victory apostles and those who followed him (Ash Shaffat/37: 182) (see also letter Zumar/39 Az: 75 and Al Mukmin/40: 65). Although the editors of the above verse is a declaration, but the sentence implies the need to praise God as rabb universe.

Al An'am / 6:1
Praise be to Allah Who created the heavens and the earth, entered into dark and light, yet those who disbelieve ascribe (something) with their Lord. In this verse Allah reveals His favor that form of life facilities and the potential that exists in it. If man ever praised another man because of his generosity, then the man should praise God because God was the essence giving men under his will own the facility. It should also compliment we say when we feel regardless of the danger (Al Mukminun/23: 28), when something we want to happen (Ibrahim/14: 39) or when we have the features that are not owned by people in general (An Naml/27 : 15)

Al Isra '/ 17:111
And say: Praise be to Allah Who has no son and has no allies in the kingdom, and He is not also despicable that require helper and magnify Him with exaltation as much as possible. If there are people who praise a king because the king possessed the power, then he should have more praise Allah Almighty because of the power of God there is nothing like it. In contrast to the power of the king who is in all relativity.

Al Kahfi/18: 1
Praise be to Allah who has been down to His servant the Book and He does not hold crookedness in it. In this verse Allah describes the gift of life in the form instructions. If we ever praise guide a blind person as a good person, then should we praise God who has illuminated the life without any coercion. Praise to God because of this guide is also expressed by the people of Paradise (Al A'raf / 7:43)

Saba '/ 34:1
Praise be to Allah who has what in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth and also all worship Him in the Hereafter. He is the Wise, Mengetahui.Ayat This suggests that the gift of God Almighty is not only limited in the world, but also continuing until the day of the hereafter. God has set completely, and creates all the necessary equipment to erect a system that wants good in this world and the Hereafter (Fathir/35: 1)

If there is no command to praise God, but man should praise God. Because any form of human admiration at something then the first human beings should admire Allah the Most Perfect.
